If you are planning on travelling distance to attractions, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

The Story Museum

We aim to become a world centre for story and storytelling. We believe stories lie at the heart of our culture. They help us to develop the vital language, imaginative and emotive skills we need to understand the world and connect with each other.
We believe that a wide variety of stories is essential for children and young people in particular, to help them fulfil their potential. Our vision is that children should grow up ‘rich in stories’.

Events over the next 6 Months

Adult Museum Late : Burns Night, 25th January 2025, 19:00 to 22:30
Burns Night with a difference! Celebrating the legacy of Robert Burns, Scottish Literary Hero, this special museum late event features a packed programme.

Immerse yourself in the atmospheric Whispering Wood with the wonderful Creation Theatre and enjoy dramatic poetry readings of Burns' poetry. Create your very own poetry-inspired zine in the Magic Common Room with Imperfect Bound.

Get your Ceilidh on in the Woodshed Theatre with the wonderful Sunbird. A ceilidh is a party with lots of dancing! Expect top tunes on fiddle, mouth organ and guitar, and perhaps a few on bagpipes too! The caller will explain all the dances, and remind you of the steps as the music plays - so this is an ideal event to come to if you're new to ceilidh dancing. You can enjoy some of the classic Scottish dances like the Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant and Strip the Willow.

Tickets include exclusive all-evening entry to the Museum's galleries, including the magical Talking Throne!

The cafe will be serving small bites between 19:30-21:30 and the bar will be open until 22:00.

Please be aware that age ID will be required at the bar.

Ages 16+

Tickets: £25/£15 for students
