For year-round interest there are plants and fine trees, lawns, borders and a riverside walk, together with herbaceous, alpine and shrub nurseries and fruit farm which provide plants and produce for sale at the garden shop. Home-made refreshments are available in the teashop. Each July the gardens host a splendid tented 4-day art and craft fair, `Art in Action'. Also rural Museum open Tue-Sun afternoon.
